My guess is that it relates to the fact that we do the shutdown
immediate wait a period of time then=20
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/sqlplus "/ as sysdba " < < EOD
alter system checkpoint;
alter system checkpoint;
shutdown abort;
exit
EOD:
...and that at the same time there is a process/session running:
